Made Like the Moon by Carrie Cotten is a Christian Mafia romance and it is amazing. Mafia romance is not something I would normally read, nor would I think it could be strongly Christian and yet, this one is very faith filled. There is nothing like the darkness to make the light shine brighter.
Grace Goodwin is an accident prone missionary on vacation when she gets mistaken for an assassin by mafia and drug cartels around the world. She soon finds herself running for her life across the globe. One very handsome mafia enforcer, Rafael Moretti, doesn’t know what to do with this woman who contradicts everything he expects of a deadly assassin.
Rafael, Rafe, doesn’t want this life, but he was born into it and finds himself torn between his job, what he sees in Grace, and those he’s committed to protecting.
It was fun, funny, intense, points to Jesus, and romantic. I highly recommend this book and don’t want to give too much away!
It’s the first in a duology in the Redemption & Ruin Series and I highly recommend it and the second part: To Reflect the Sun. In fact the two names say it all—Grace says she was taught she was “made like the moon to reflect the sun.” Think on that and get the book.

Blurb:
Grace Goodwin doesn’t look like a killer. She doesn’t act or think like one, either. But after accidentally witnessing a back alley murder, Grace finds herself the number one suspect and a target of both drug cartel and mafia organizations. There’s no one left whom she trusts except for her Italian pen pal—and she doesn’t even know his real name. Armed with nothing but “Jesus and jokes,” Grace zigzags the globe, running for her life while trying to uncover the truth.
Mafia enforcer Rafael Moretti was born into a world of darkness, where disloyalty is deadly and violence is expected. Trying to keep his family safe, he takes on another unwanted assignment. A pink-haired, kitten-loving American has been uncovered as the ruthless assassin known only as “The Ghost.” The longer she eludes him, the more his curiosity is piqued by the cat-and-mouse game they’re playing. But no matter how much he secretly wants her to survive, Rafe knows he will lose everything if he fails in his mission.
Will Grace and Rafe discover the truth about their identities before they irrevocably destroy their future?
It is a no-spice romance with strong Christian themes, no swearing and no gory violence.
