Let's talk love stories!

Image
Let's talk love stories. Watch my video above. Have you read this one? The Bible. The thread from page one is that God loves you so much that He sent Jesus, fully God and fully man, to suffer and die for you. Nothing you have done is too great to be covered by His death. You can live in the freedom he offers now. I would love to share more. You can find the basics on my gospel page at KimGriffin.org. Every novel I write points to these truths and shows people learning how Christ meets them in their brokenness. If you aren't already a Christian, I hope you will look closely at Him. You can get a free gospel of John study and read about how to become a Christian here . John 3:16 ESV - "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." You can find all of my books (both Christian fiction with romance and devotionals)  here . Disclosure of Material Connection: Some of the links in the page above...

Review of The Songbird by Carrie Cotten

Image
I recently had a guest blogger/author, Carrie Cotten. She's a good friend and I can't recommend her books enough. The Huntress series is absolutely wonderful. To start the series, begin with The Huntress here . Read the blog post here . Kim Griffin's review: The Songbird by Carrie Cotten is beautifully written medieval Christian fiction story in a series that gets better with each book as I meet more characters and see old ones. Carrie has crafted another story that beautifully weaves together rich detail, powerful faith journeys, and a tender romance.  it centers on Tove, a young woman recently widowed and stranded far from home, and Gerritt, a notorious pirate against a backdrop of Vikings, more pirates, and the constant threat of battles. The medieval world feels vivid and dangerous. In this world faith isn't just professed but tested through real persecution. What makes this book exceptional is how Cotten handles the spiritual transformations. Gerritt's rede...

Heritage and Humility - Bible Study

Image
Last week, I had my daughter's family and our granddaughter had quite a time digging into her mom's dress up trunk and toys. She recently discovered silver princess gloves (that are made for an 8 year old and are ginormous on her), and a raggedy plastic Hawaiian lei. She also found her mother's old princess shoes and had a blast clomping around the house and dancing in them when she wasn't frolicking through the grass in all of her finery. It was a joy to watch her. But even more precious than watching her literally walk in her mother's shoes, is to hear her ask for the kid's Bible to do her bedtime Bible study or ask to pray. It's that legacy of faith that is being passed down that will matter for eternity.  An empty plot of land, grandchildren, and humility.   What do these things have in common? Last week I also traveled through Mississippi and stopped in Laurel, my mom’s hometown, on the plot of land that once held my grandparents’ home. As I walked ...

Guest Blogger Q&A: Author Latisha Sexton

Image
I can't wait to jump into this interview with my good friend and fellow Christian Mommy Writer, author Latisha Sexton! In fact, I believe she's the one who introduced me to Christian Mommy Writers. She's also part of another writers' group I'm in that meets once a month, and I am so thankful to know her. I should mention she reads so widely across the Christian fiction genres that she's a wealth of knowledge. Latisha has written 7 books: three are in multiauthor series (two in a hockey series and another in the Give a Bookish Girl a Biker Series), two are a Christian romantic suspense duology-the In the Midst of Series, one is a romcom--Bram Baxter Marries the Wrong Sister, and last but probably one of my favorites is Neverending Mercy (Christian fiction with romance). All of her books have faith elements. Read on to find out all about her.  Tell us a bit about yourself! Where you’re from, your family, hobbies, favorite things—anything fun you’d like to share! ...

The Bridegroom - Mini Bible study on Christ's love

Image
Revelation 19:6-9 ESV - Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the roar of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, crying out, "Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns. 7 Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready; 8 it was granted her to clothe herself with fine linen, bright and pure"-- for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints. 9 And the angel said to me, "Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb ." And he said to me, "These are the true words of God." February is the month of love, and as we finish it out I can't help but speak of Christ's love. As a writer of Christian romance, love is often in the forefront of my mind. We long for love stories with heroes who protect us both physically and emotionally, and who love us unconditionally. Yet it is...
