Guest Blogger Q & A: Sarah Stasik
This year I've been hosting guest Christian authors to introduce you to the world of Christian fiction that may be broader than you ever imagined! Sarah is a friend through Christian Mommy Writers and we will be hosting a table together at the Thrive North Carolina Homeschool Conference next month! If you live near Winston Salem you should check it out here.
Read the interview below to find out more about Sarah:
1. Tell us a bit about yourself! Where you’re from, your family, hobbies, favorite things—anything fun you’d like to share!
I’m a part-Cajun who was born in Alaska but grew up in the heart of Acadiana in Louisiana. I’ve lived among the Virginia mountains for more than 20 years with my husband and kids. By day, I homeschool, run a full-time content marketing freelance business, keep house, care for my family, and have mini adventures. We love a good waterfall, mountain view, or meandering wood walk. In stolen hours, I write novels about Jesus and dragons.
2. When did you feel called to become an author? Why do you write? Do you have a favorite writing verse?
I’ve always written stories, filling up notebooks and yellow legal pads. I started feeling called to write Christian fiction around 2019, but it was a slow journey to decide that Jesus and dragons could exist in the same stories. I read widely, but fantasy and romance have always been my favorite genres, so it’s no surprise my first series is a contemporary Christian fantasy romance with dragon shifters.
I pick a Bible verse as a focal point for each of my books. My debut novel, Smoke & Stone, focused on Ephesians 6:12. My second book, Wind & Water, is slated for a late spring 2026 release. Its verse is Psalm 20:7: “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.”

Sarah currently has one book out and another one coming soon! Check out the blurb for Smoke and Stone below:
For Becca Warren and Aaron Calder, no choice is still a choice.
Becca is wrapping up her senior year of college with no current plans for the rest of her life. Decisions are hard, and she wonders if it’s better to let someone else make them.
Aaron is 24 years old and worried about going so feral he never comes back. Only a few people know his secrets because only a few people know him. He’s pretty sure he prefers it that way.
When too many coincidences bring their worlds together, they must step outside of comfort zones. To become known. To make the most important decisions of their lives. To face external and internal dangers. To find themselves and each other.
- Socially awkward, anxious female main character with decisions to make and no desire to make them
- Angry loner male main character building walls to keep others out, sure he's not worthy of a calling
- Romance tropes including fake dating, slow burn, forced proximity
- Dragon shifter (with a twist)
- Christian faith elements
- Sweet, meaningful romance without spice (kissing only)
- Fun side characters and secondary romance
