Have you read through all of the Bible?  It’s difficult to stand firm in our faith when we don’t know scripture.  It’s too easy for people to twist the words of God and for unknowledgeable Christian’s to miss it.  It’s also difficult to speak truth into the world if we don’t know it. I highly suggest spending time in God's word each day. His word is our sustenance.

I also encourage you to both read the Bible through and do shorter in depth book studies. You don't have to do them at the same time, or if you do, you may want to go through the Bible at a slower pace. Another great way to "read" through the Bible is to listen to it on audio. Most Bible apps allow you to listen. The Youversion Bible and the ESV Bible apps do have this feature.

  A couple of weeks ago I returned from a fabulous time with some of my favorite people at the Christian Mommy Writer's retreat! We have around 100 of us scattered around the world, though we're primarily in the USA, and it's such an amazing group of authors who are navigating juggling family life, serving the Lord, and glorifying Him in our writing. Many of the books I review and recommend are by these amazing ladies. At the retreat we had classes where we heard from a number of different authors who spoke on our writing craft, marketing, and balancing all of our jobs. One of the most special times we had each day was our morning devotional and worship time. We also spent plenty of time catching up in person on life and writing, sharing ideas, and of course writing. Review of Sowing Hope by Heather Wood

  My review of Sowing Hope: Sowing Hope by Heather Wood will take you on a journey as you follow along with Patrick Gallagher in 1836 on his path from Maryland to Missouri to work with Elijah Lovejoy a famous abolitionist (a real historical figure). Along the way you’ll also meet Anna Markland and find out the mysteries she holds as their lives intersect. This book places you right in the action—including the hardships of the time, difficulties for abolitionists and black Americans, and the spiritual battle that took place among it all as Heather Wood weaves together an excellent Christian Historical Fiction story that is filled with so much fact and many real people that it’s hard to imagine her fictional characters weren’t really there.   My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. John 10:27 ESV Recently my husband put up a temporary fence for our cows to allow them to eat some of the nice green grass in our yard. I should have prefaced this by saying I'm a city girl and 23 years ago my husband "Green Acre'd" me to rural Tennessee. Then we bought land and it was too much to mow, so our neighbor said, "Get some cows and I'll help you when you need it." So here we are on 17 or so acres with a few cows and donkeys. (the cows in the distance are our neighbors)  Back to the story of the fence. With the field drying out he thought it would be a great idea to give them some extra grass. He set up the fence, got a bucket of feed, and lured them over. For the three in the bottom picture, it took little coaxing.
