Author Inspiration in Paris

     Sometimes when I write, my scenes are completely from my imagination, but other times a real event is the spark for an idea. In the book I'm currently editing, Not Quite Mr. Darcy, there's an incident just outside of Notre Dame Cathedral that involves police and a mob.  " As  Kate  turned, Declan threw an arm in front of her to protect her from what was escalating into a screaming mob running from the cathedral."      To avoid spoilers, I won't explain that particular scene, but I will say that it is based on my family's actual experience during our first visit to Paris.  I'm not one to throw mobs and police into a story just to add drama, but both times I've visited the city there have been strikes and armed police in places that seemed alarming to me.  In fact on our first visit, the moment we got off the train we had taken from London to Paris, we heard screaming in the train station and people were running in from outside with smoke following

Welcome to my blog! I'm an ex-interior designer and ex-homeschool mom who has been leading Bible Studies for over 34 years and working in Women's Ministry for over 25 years.  As I began phasing out of the homeschool mom title, God led me to write words of hope.  I currently write Christian clean romance and have written a Christmas Advent Devotional book.  My desire is that my books will draw you closer to the God who sees all of you and loves you still.  The romance books I write have lots of scripture woven in. My hope is that both Christians and non Christians will see how the Word applies to our everyday lives.   I give my main characters opportunities to be tempted. stretched, and drawn to Christ if they aren’t already Christians.   May my readers see the greatness of God as well as how He personally enters the lives of His people. May my words create a hunger and desire in the heart of readers to want to draw closer to God in the mundane of their own lives as we
