From designer to author

Welcome to my blog! I'm an ex-interior designer and ex-homeschool mom who has been leading Bible Studies for over 34 years and working in Women's Ministry for over 25 years.  As I began phasing out of the homeschool mom title, God led me to write words of hope.  I currently write Christian clean romance and have written a Christmas Advent Devotional book.  My desire is that my books will draw you closer to the God who sees all of you and loves you still. 

The romance books I write have lots of scripture woven in. My hope is that both Christians and non Christians will see how the Word applies to our everyday lives.  I give my main characters opportunities to be tempted. stretched, and drawn to Christ if they aren’t already Christians.  May my readers see the greatness of God as well as how He personally enters the lives of His people. May my words create a hunger and desire in the heart of readers to want to draw closer to God in the mundane of their own lives as well as the mountaintop experiences. 


May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.  Romans 15:13

The old man creeps down the street in his truck and I fuss. Doesn't he know people are in a hurry? I get distracted and pull out in front of someone, causing them to honk their horn. Good grief, can't they be patient? It's funny how we expect others to forgive us, but we get angry about the very same things with others.  The previous examples were just everyday situations with no long term consequences, but what if someone wrongs us in a way that is more serious? We may put it behind us, but can we forgive them? What if they have harmed us or someone we love? Bringing Christ to Christmas Gift Giving

What better way to put Christ back into Christmas than to give Christ centered gifts! When our first child had his first Christmas we decided to give only 3 gifts as a reminder that Jesus received 3 gifts from the wisemen. Each gift had a category: want, need, and spiritual. As the children have gotten older and are adults, the want and need often overlap.  There have been so many benefits from this. Limiting the gifts has been great at keeping the focus more on Christ. Rather than spending this season figuring out what they want, our children's focus has been freed up for other things. They are actually often at a loss, because gifts for themselves are not their top priority. It has been a benefit for us as parents, not just financially, because we don't have to stress out about getting them the perfect gift.  Another special benefit is getting to search for something to help them in their spiritual walk. Review of The Designated Valentine by Drew Taylor

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ In The Designated Valentine Drew Taylor weaves past and present together to gradually reveal how Karoline and Mason went from long time best friends to enemies to love. This is a sweet, clean romantic comedy that doesn’t overdo the comedy and only contains kissing, though it does discuss the battle with attraction the main characters have and how they want to be careful because of their faith. Drew includes a warning at the beginning of the book that there is also some mention of alcohol as this book deals with a past addiction. Drinking is not promoted. Both Karoline and Mason think they’ve matured since they last spoke three years before, but they still have room to grow and as a reader I enjoyed my front row seat to see that growth.
